Flexco Introduces the Radial Belt Edge Protector (BEP-R)

Flexco recently announced the launch of the Radial Belt Edge Protector (BEP-R), a specialized addition to its BEP product line designed to address the unique challenges of curved conveyor systems. This innovative design features a vertical brush barrier specifically engineered to prevent package jams at power turns, where parcels naturally migrate toward the outside edge and become trapped between the conveyor belt and the conveyor structure.

"The Radial Belt Edge Protector fills a critical gap in the market," said Flexco Product Manager Ryan Jackson. "Power turns are essential for efficient package routing, but, until now, they've always been a major jam point with no effective solution.Flexco's Radial Belt Edge Protector Curved conveyor belts are exponentially more expensive to manufacture and repair than straight sections, so when packages wedge into these systems, the stakes are incredibly high. The BEP-R's vertical brush design allows the belt to run freely underneath while physically blocking packages from escaping into that vulnerable gap. With this innovation, we're giving facilities their first real defense against one of the costliest jam points across their operations."

Whereas traditional belt edge protectors overlap the belt, the BEP-R features a vertical brush that creates a flexible barrier, preventing package intrusion without interfering with belt movement. Installation follows the same straightforward mounting process that maintenance teams have come to expect from Flexco’s BEP, allowing for quick attachment wherever power turn protection is needed. Overall, the BEP-R's durable construction withstands the demanding conditions of high-volume operations while maintaining consistent jam prevention.

The BEP-R is ideal for logistics facilities, airport baggage handling systems, parcel sortation centers, and any operation utilizing curved conveyors where package flow and system protection are critical to operational success.
